Eurozone and EU consumer confidence recovering but still far from average

Consumer confidence rebounded in November, rising 2.8 points in the European Union (EU) and 3.6 points in the euro area, according to data from the European Commission released Tuesday.

According to data released by the General Directorate of Economic and Financial Affairs of the municipality’s executive branch, consumer confidence in November rose to -25.8 points in the EU and -23.9 in the euro countries.

The indicator remains in both areas below the long-term average of -10.6 in the EU and -11.0 in the eurozone.

Already in October, consumer confidence accelerated by 0.9 points in the EU and by 1.2 points in the eurozone, to -29.0 and -27.6 respectively, after breaking through to historical lows of -29, 9 and -28.8, registered in September.
