1. Day – walk around the city

Bordeaux is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so we set off to discover the beauty of the city as soon as we left our backpacks alone. Be sure to visit the landmark Place de la Bourse, surrounded by 18th-century buildings. Along the embankment with beautiful lanterns, we reached the next point – Place Quencens, above which rises a majestic fountain with a monument to the Girondins.

Campanile La Grosse Cloche is close to my destition which is a great cafe to dine Books & Coffee serving great coffee. Their salmon sandwich was phenomel.

We also didn’t miss Rue Sainte-Catherine – the longest shopping street in Europe, but for me it was more of a struggle, as the crowds of people flowing in all directions did not entirely please me, but shoppers will certainly be happy with this attraction. .

2. Day – submarine base or gallery?

Bordeaux

The next day’s plan was the 1943 U-boat base Galerie Bassins de Lumières. At 45,000 m² and 235 meters long, the monumental structure will certainly leave your jaw dropping, but what you will see inside will amaze you! No wonder this gallery, opened in 2020, has become one of the most sought-after attractions in Bordeaux, as well as the largest center for digital art in the world. Inside, you can enjoy a video mapping that will engulf you also because everything is reflected in the four water tanks.

3. Day – the largest dune in Europe

Excursion to Dune du Pilat.

The last day we devoted to a trip to the Dune du Pilat. You can reach the dune over a hundred meters high by train and then by bus for a few euros. You get a little out of breath during the climb, but the view is worth it. On the one hand, you will see the ocean, playing with all shades of blue, on the other, endless forests. I recommend buying lunch before going to the dune and preparing a small picnic on top of it. On the way back, we stopped by the sea, which we reached in a few minutes when transferring to the train.
