Yana R. is on trial for raping children: they face life-long consequences! When is the verdict?

According to the psychologist, some of the children who, according to the indictment, were raped by 32-year-old Jan R. from Liberec, who is on trial for his actions, suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. Psychologist Štěpan Vymetal, who took part in the examition of six abused children, testified at the court session. He said that in all of them they feel a significant impact on their psychological state.

According to the expert, for some, lifelong consequences cannot be ruled out. Defendant Jan R. is on trial for abuse of seven children aged 4 to 11. He faces from five to 12 years in prison, he partially pleaded guilty. Psychologist Vymetal testified via videoconference.

According to Denik, the 11-year-old girl suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, mood swings, sleep disturbances, or increased fear and anxiety. Another eight-year-old girl is trying to massively suppress her feelings. On the contrary, an eight-year-old boy, out of fear, refused to talk about what was happening. Another young victim develops nocturl enuresis.

The judgment against the defendant will be made by the Liberec District Court at the next hearing on Tuesday 4 April. Even before closing arguments will be heard, the testimony ended on Thursday.

According to the indictment, between 2020 and 2022, a man raped six girls and one boy. The arrested man admitted in court that he had or tried to have sex with five girls. He mainly took care of the children of relatives. In one case, according to the indictment, he abused a little girl at a spring camp he organized.

In addition to rape, he is also accused of child abuse for the production of pornography, as well as the production and other handling of child pornography. According to the indictment, he had thousands of audio-visual tapes of a sexual ture involving children from toddlers to primary school age.
