Returning to the church, the legendary hockey player recalled the moment from the funeral of Karel Gott, which stirred up the entire Czech Republic three years ago.

Church bells rang in Paul’s Starost Square, announcing the end. The funeral service, which, according to the priest Zbigniew Chandlik, was a celebration of the life of Jaromir Jagr Sr., has come to an end. And while most of the mourners were discussing among themselves outside, the owner of Kladno Knights returned inside the church, accompanied by his beloved Dominika.

Perhaps he wanted to meditate a little more in a sacred place and compare in his mind the stage of life that ended with the death of his beloved father. After all, he behaved the same way at the funeral of Karel Gott in St. Vitus Cathedral, where he remained sitting alone after all the guests had already dispersed (more details HERE).

But he probably also wanted to thank Chandlick for the sensitivity with which he conducted the touching ceremony. Jaromir and Dominika spent only a few minutes in the church and soon left.

I take my hat off to the hockey legend. He was able to find the strength to stand at his father’s funeral and gracefully read the letter that he wrote to him on the way to heaven. Even though he is going through a really hard time, he did not leave his unique sense of humor in his speech.
