back to talking about Apple plans to focus on OLED displays for its products. A recent article by Korean newspaper The Elec claims that Samsung Display has developed a 13.3-inch OLED panel for a new MacBook Air model.
The Asian company would also work with LG Display. 11-inch OLED display for a future iPad model Which should see the light in 2024.
As such, the next few years could be crucial for Apple, which in turn could launch the market. New iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models with OLED panels. However, the latter will still be a long way off, and The Elec suggests it could take around two years for development to complete. This isn’t the first time the rumor has surfaced, and last November, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo started a speculation that the first MacBooks with OLED displays would arrive in 2024.
Speaking of suppliers of OLED screens, Elec recaps the indecision as Apple initially chose Samsung Display for 10.86-inch OLED panels for a future iPad model. However, due to both price and quality issues and a desire to separate the iPad Air from the iPad Pro, the project would be rejected. For future OLED displays, the American company would switch to a dual-stack OLED display, which is expected to launch on the iPad Pro in 2024.
