The resort paradise of the Czechs was covered with snow: more than 30 centimeters fell on Mallorca

Mallorca, one of the favorite tourist destinations not only for Czechs, is covered in snow. This is quite unusual for the Balearic Islands. On Monday, 40 centimeters fell, and on Tuesday another 10 centimeters were added. In addition, waves of more than seven meters are whipping onto the shore, storm Juliet is to blame for such weather, according to the Daily Mail.

Cities are de-energized, roads are impassable due to snow. The highest possible warning level is being applied on the island and further snowfall is expected, with at least 38 centimeters expected. Mallorca certainly does not look like a sunny island, its beauty is tormented by a snowstorm. The temperature drops, the morning even close to zero degrees.

The Spanish meteorological agency AEMET has warned that in the north of the island, storm Juliet winds can reach 88 kilometers per hour, and waves can rise to a height of more than 8 meters. The cold front caused a significant drop in temperatures across Spain, and a snow warning was issued in the Balearic Islands, according to El País newspaper. Heavy snowfall on the islands brought a storm named Juliet, snow showers in Mallorca will last until Wednesday, according to El País. Neighboring Menorca has also been hit, with the second-highest warning level in place, with ports closed.

And according to AEMET, the temperature in the country will continue to fall, in some places to minus ten degrees Celsius. Due to winter, strong winds and snowfall, a warning has been issued for the regions of Asturias, Castile-Leon, Navarre, the Basque Country, La Rioja and the Spanish enclave of Melilla, located in northern Africa.
